GolfThe very best DFS Golf picks for the upcoming WGC-Cadillac Championship in Doral, Florida on March 3rd 2016

We’re back with more PGA tips after another mixed bag of selections last time out. Next up on the PGA tour is the WGC Cadillac Championship, which is held at the Trump National Doral course in Doral, Florida. The course is a huge 7,528 par 72, and is known for having many water hazards.

The course obviously suits bigger hitters as the course is so long, so bear that in mind when making your selections.

Another thing to mention before we get onto the picks, there is no cut on this tournament as the field is much smaller. This means all players will have a full roster for the 4 days, so it’s going to make it a little harder to make our picks.

Adam Scott – $11,500

Adam ScottFirst up is Adam Scott. He won last week at the Honda Classic so is coming into this tournament in top form. Besides that win he also came 2nd in the tournament before that and has a further two top 10 finishes in the 4 tournaments previous.

He is in 8th position on the tour for driving distance, which will be a huge advantage for him this weekend, and also ranks 1st in par 5 scoring. Birdies and Eagles will be incredibly valuable this week as there is no cut. You of course score points for Birdies and Eagles so even if your picks don’t necessarily finish near the top of the leaderboard, they can till earn big points over 4 rounds if score lots of holes under par.

I think Adam Scott should be good for both scoring holes under par and finishing near the top of the leaderboard, so if you’re going to pay up for a golfer at the top of the slate, I would suggest giving Scott a serious look.

Dustin Johnson – $11,200

Dustin Johnson

No big surprise here. This is the former Champion who also has another 11 top 10 finishes on this course.

He has a huge drive and shot power all around the course, which is why he has been so successful here.

I think Dustin Johnson is probably the safest of the higher priced golfers on the slate.

Dustin finished recently 4th at the Northern Trust Open 2016 which we included him in our picks for the tournament.

J.B Holmes – $9,400

J.B. HolmesJ.B Holmes has history at this course. Last year in the same tournament Holmes shot a 62 first round -10, sitting him on top of the leaderboard by some margin.

Now, keep in mind the winning score of the whole tournament was -9. Holmes even had a 5 shot lead going into the final round, but shot a 75 to finish 1 shot behind Dustin Johnson.

Now, it’s obvious Holmes is capable of shooting huge rounds at this course, something not a lot of golfers can do, and he should be coming into this tournament with a vengeance after what happened last year.
